Good slow cook chow mein Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut in 1 chunks |
1 tablespoon of oil |
4 stalks of celery chopped |
4 carrots chopped |
4 green onions chopped |
1 cup of chicken broth |
1/3 soy sauce |
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes |
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger |
1 clove garlic minced |
8 ounces bean sprouts |
8 ounces water chestnuts sliced |
1/4 cup cornstarch |
1/2 cup water |
Directions:
1. In a skillet brown the chicken in the oil....the step can be skipped 2. if you don't have the time...Put browned chicken in the crockpot, 3. all all ingredients except cornstarch and water. Stir, cover and 4. cook on LOW for 6-8 hours. Before serving turn the crockpot 5. to HIGH . Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl, stirring 6. until dissolved. Stir into the crockpot liquids.Keeping cover 7. slightly ajar to allow steam to escape, cook until thickened... 8. 15-30 minutes. Serve over rich or chow mein noodles. 9. May be doubled for 5 qt. crockpots. |
