4# lean beef-cubed |
1 cup red wine |
1 tsp. each fresh ground black pepper and thyme |
8 slices of bacon-diced |
1/3 cup oil |
3 cloves garlic-crushed |
1 medium onion-diced |
1# mushrooms-sliced |
1/3 cup flour |
Directions:
1. marinate beef in wine,oil,thyme and pepper 4 hours at room tempature or over night in the fridge(best) 2. in a large skillet , cook bacon till soft,add garlic and onions , sauteeing till soft, add mushrooms and cook till slightly wilted 3. drain beef,reserving marinade, 4. place beef in crockpot, sprinkle with flour,stirring to coat well 5. add mushroom mixture on top, pour marinade liquid over all and cover 6. cook on low for 8-9 hours |
