Here is the best way to make cabbage rolls, they are cooked slowly over 8-10 hours, and taste oh so good when finished!! Ingredients:
12 large cabbage leaves |
1 lb lean ground beef or 1 lb lamb |
1/2 cup cooked rice |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
3/4 cup water |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 teaspoon leaves thyme |
Directions:
1. Wash cabbage leaves. 2. Bring 4 cups water to an boil and turn off heat. 3. Soak leaves in water for 5 minutes; remove, drain and cool. 4. Combine ground meat, rice, salt, pepper, and thyme. 5. Place 2 tablespoons meat mixture on each leaf and roll firmly. 6. Stack in slow cooker. 7. Combine tomato paste and water; pour over stuffed cabbabe. 8. Cook on low setting for 8-10 hours. |
