I do love green chilies. I was happy to find this simple recipe for green (verde) chile turkey. This is not too spicy and makes wonderful wrap sandwiches. I also use it for main dish servings with mashed potatoes. Ingredients:
1 (2 1/2 lb) turkey breast halves, thawed, skin removed |
1 (16 ounce) jar mild green chili salsa |
4 garlic cloves, minced |
1 medium onion, chopped |
1 medium potato, chopped |
1/2 cup chicken broth |
1 teaspoon cumin |
6 flour tortillas, warmed (8 inches in diameter) |
Directions:
1. Place the turkey breast half in a 3-1/2 quart crockpot. 2. Combine remaining ingredients, stirring, and pour over the turkey. 3. Cover crockpot and cook on LO heat for 8 to 10 hours. 4. To serve: cut the turkey into slices and wrap (with some sauce) in the warmed tortillas. |
