Fairly easy to make. I make this every Thanksgiving and Christmas, and at any other special event. Tastes Great!! Ingredients:
1 cup margarine |
2 cups chopped onions |
2 cups chopped celery |
13 cups dry bread cubes |
2 beaten eggs |
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons sage |
1 teaspoon thyme |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
32 ounces chicken broth |
Directions:
1. Melt margarine in a large skillet. Add chopped onion and chopped celery and saute for 10 min on med-low. 2. Add all the seasonings (poultry seasoning, salt, sage, thyme, pepper) to the margarine mixture. 3. Place the 13 cups of dried bread cubes in a very large bowl (26-32 cup bowl). 4. Add margarine mixture to bread cubes. 5. Beat the eggs and add to the bread cubes and toss lightly until well mixed. 6. Add the chicken broth, toss until all is moistened. 7. Add to a greased or sprayed large crock pot, cook on low to med-low for 3-5 hours. |
