Crock-Pot Smothered Chinese Pepper Steak |

This recipe came from a friend at Holloman AFB in New Mexico many many Many years ago. Have adjusted it a little over the years and I now use whole wheat flour and a Lite Soy Sauce but the flavor remains the same. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs round steaks, cut into thin strips |
1/3 cup flour |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1 (16 ounce) can tomatoes |
1 onion, cut into rings |
2 green bell peppers, cut into strips |
3 tablespoons light soy sauce |
1 garlic clove, smashed |
4 green onions, sliced |
1 teaspoon sugar (optional) |
1 teaspoon salt (optional) |
1 cup bean sprouts (optional) |
Directions:
1. Put steak, flour, pepper in Crock-Pot. Stir until well coated. 2. Add remaining ingredients. 3. Cover and cook on Low 8 hours. 4. (High for 4 hours). 5. Remove cover to thicken. 6. Serve over Noodles or Rice. |
