Crock Pot Sausage Pasta Stew |

This is a favorite of my family. Ingredients:
1 lb italian sausage, casings removed |
4 cups water |
1 (26 ounce) jar meatless spaghetti sauce |
1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained |
2 medium carrots, cut into 1/4-inch slices |
1 medium red pepper, diced |
1/3 cup chopped onion |
1 1/2 cups uncooked spiral pasta |
1 cup frozen peas |
1 teaspoon sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. In a nonstick skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain and place in a crockpot. 2. Add water, spaghetti sauce, beans, carrots, red pepper and onion and mix. 3. Cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours or until vegetables are tender. 4. Stir in the pasta, peas, sugar, salt and pepper and mix. 5. Cover and cook on high for 15-20 minutes or until pasta is tender. |
