6 potatoes, peeled and cubed |
1 onion, chopped |
2 celery ribs, sliced |
4 chicken bouillon cubes |
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes |
5 cups water |
1 tablespoon salt |
pepper, to taste (optional) |
1/3 cup butter |
1 (13 ounce) can evaporated milk |
chives (optional) |
bacon (optional) |
cheddar cheese (optional) |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients excet milk and chives in the slow cooker. 2. Cover. Cook on Low 10-12 hours or on High 3-4 hours. Stir in milk during last hour. 3. If desired, mash potatoes before serving. 4. Garnish with optional ingredients. 5. (Add one carrot, sliced, to vegetables before cooking.). 6. (Instead of water and bouillon cubes, use 4-5 cups chicken stock.). |
