Crock Pot Herbed Chicken and Shrimp |

Yummy chicken and shrimp dinner. Adapted from Quick Cooking and modified to suit our tastes. Ingredients:
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon pepper |
1 1/2-2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut in cubes |
1/4 cup butter |
1 large onion, chopped |
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1/2 cup white wine or 1/2 cup chicken broth |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 teaspoon dried basil |
1 lb uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined |
Directions:
1. Combine salt and pepper and rub over the chicken pieces. 2. In a skillet, brown chicken on all sides in butter. 3. Transfer chicken to crock pot. 4. In a bowl combine the onion, tomato sauce, wine or broth, garlic and basil and pour over chicken. 5. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until juices run clear. 6. Stir in the shrimp. 7. Cover and cook on high for 20-30 minutes or until shrimp turn pink. |
