Crock Pot Deviled Swiss Steak |

I have been making this for years. It's another family favorite. Ingredients:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour |
1 tablespoon ground mustard |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
2 (1 lb) beef flank steaks, halved |
2 tablespoons butter or 1/2 cup margarine |
1 cup thinly sliced onion |
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
1 tablespoon brown sugar |
Directions:
1. In a large plastic bag, combine the flour, mustard, salt and pepper. 2. Add steaks and shake to coat. 3. In a large skillet, brown steaks on both sides in butter. 4. Transfer to crock pot. 5. Top with onion. 6. In a bowl, combine the tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar. 7. Pour mixture over meat and onion. 8. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until meat is tender. |
