I like to make my chili with a little cornmeal in it, it thickens up the chili and gives it a nice flavor Ingredients:
2 cups pinto beans |
1 lb ground beef |
8 cups water |
1/4 cup cornmeal |
1 cup frozen corn kernels |
2 tablespoons chili powder |
1 tablespoon garlic, minced |
2 teaspoons salt |
2 cups tomatoes, chopped |
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in crockpot with the exception of tomatoes. 2. Let cook on high 6-7 hours. 3. After beans are thoroughly cooked, add the tomatoes and heat through. 4. Season individual servings as desired. I like to sprinkle a little salt on top so I don't get as much sodium but still get a little salty taste. 5. Serve with Corn Cakes. |
