I found this recipe through a Florida's Natural e-mail newsletter. I have not tried this yet, but hope to soon. Please let me know how you liked it. :) St. Patrick's day is just around the corner, but really any time is a good time for good ol' corned beef and cabbage. :D (Even with my IBS I might have to try this. Patrick's Day dinner is complete without the Irish-American favorite, corned beef and cabbage. This recipe makes the preparations a bit easier by using a crock pot to cook both the beef and the cabbage. Ingredients:
12 baby carrots |
2 medium onions, quartered |
2 -3 lbs corned beef brisket |
1/2 cup orange juice (florida's natural brand premium) |
1 cup water |
3 whole cloves |
2 crushed garlic cloves |
1/2 head cabbage, cut into wedges |
Directions:
1. Put all ingredients in a crock pot in order listed, except for the cabbage. 2. Cover and cook on low for about 8 hours (about 5 hours on high). 3. Add cabbage, cover and cook for one more hour or until tender. 4. Serves 6-8. |
