My grandmother, mom, and I all make this chili regularly. Maxine chili powder, if you can find it, is the best. A double recipe fills my slow cooker to the top! Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1 medium onion, chopped |
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes |
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1 (16 ounce) can chili beans |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 dash garlic powder |
2 tablespoons chili powder |
Directions:
1. 1. Saute ground beef and onion on stove top until beef is cooked through adn onion is translucent. Transfer to slow cooker. 2. 2. Add remaining ingredients and cook on low 7-8 hours or on high 4 hours. 3. 3. Serve with corn chips, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and chopped jalapeƱos. |
