This is another recipe from our cousin Stacy Anderson. Stacy is the ultimate pet lover in the family and I think she has more animals than all of us combined....you know she's an awesome person to love animals that much! She says Not sure where I got this receipe, off the internet, I have changed it over the years to what I like. Serving size is a guesstimate. Ingredients:
1 lb chicken-apple sausages |
2 -3 slices bacon |
1/2 cup yellow onion, chopped |
10 cups breadcrumbs |
1/3 cup butter |
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper |
1 cup chicken broth |
1/2 cup apple cider |
2 apples, cubed |
Directions:
1. Coat your 4 1/2 quart Crock pot with Cooking Spray. 2. Cook your Sausage, Bacon, & onions in a frying pan until brown- drain grease. 3. Combine Bread Crumbs & Sausage mix in crock pot. 4. Melt your butter & drizzle over mixture, add poultry season, salt, pepper , chicken broth, cider & apples. **MIX WELL**. 5. Cook on low 4 1/2 to 5 hours or on high 2 1/2 hours. Make sure to stir once in while and to check moisture level. If mixture seems dry, add more chicken broth. 6. This stuffing mix goes great with Pork Lion. You can also add cranberries for a sweeter taste. |
