Variations (1) Add a 4 oz can of mushrooms, undrained to step 2 (2) Add a 4oz can of mushrooms, undrained, plus 1/2 cup red wine to step 2. (3) Replace soda with 1 cup sour cream in recipe. Add either a 4oz or 8oz can of mushrooms undrained to step 2. Ingredients:
2 lbs stew meat |
1/2-1 ounce dry onion soup mix (1/2-1 envelope) |
12 ounces carbonated lemon-lime beverage |
10 3/4 ounces cream of mushroom soup or 10 3/4 ounces cream of chicken soup |
Directions:
1. Put meat in slow cooker. 2. Sprinkle dry onion soup mix over meat. 3. Mix soda and soup together in a bowl. Spoon over meat, being careful not to disturb the onion soup mix. 4. Cover and cook on high 4 hours. Do not stir or remove the lid until the time is up. 5. Serve over cooked rice or noodles. |
