Easy, and delicious. Great for chilly autumn or winter days with a loaf of warm crusty bread. The best part, for me, is that you don't even need to brown the beef first! Ingredients:
1 lb beef, cut into cubes |
3 potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks |
3 carrots, cut into chunks |
3 stalks celery, sliced |
1 (8 ounce) carton mushrooms, halved |
1 small onion, cut into pieces |
1/2 cup frozen corn |
1/2 cup frozen peas |
2 (10 3/4 ounce) cans beef broth |
1 cup water |
1 tablespoon mrs. dash seasoning mix |
1 teaspoon sea salt |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
1/2 cup red wine |
1 tablespoon flour |
Directions:
1. In a crockpot, layer all ingredients except the flour. 2. Cook on high for 5-6 hours. 3. About 1 hour before serving, whisk the flour with 1/2 c of the stock from the stew, then stir it into the stew. |
