                    Great way to use up those extra fall apples. Ingredients: 
                    
                        
                                                4 medium cooking apples, peeled and quartered  |  
                                                1/4 cup water  |  
                                                1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed  |  
                                                1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon  |  
                                                1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg  |  
                                                
                     
                    Directions: 
                    
                        
                            
                                1. Mix all ingredients in a 3 1/2 quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on high heat setting 2 hours or until apples are tender. Stir.                              |
