Directions:
1. dissolve yeast 1 tablespoon sugar in water 2. scald milk. 3. add shortening. 4. add sugar 5. add salt. 6. set aside to cool to lukewarm 7. add 2 cups sifted flour 8. to batter 9. add yeast and beaten eggs 10. add remaining flour 11. knead to make soft dough 12. knead 13. let rise until double 14. 3 hours 15. divide dough unto 4 bals 16. roll paper thin 17. spread with walnut mixture 18. roll like jelly roll place in greased pan 19. let rise 20. bake 350 for 45 minutes 21. filling:. 22. grind nuts add sugar melted butter and enough eggs to make spreading consistancy 12 to 18 eggs is what recipe says i just didnt want to give some one heart failure when they saw that lol. |
