This is very simple and hot sauce. You can put some rice in it and you get something like “djuvech”, but not so rich with various vegetables. Ingredients:
300 g onions |
400 g bell peppers (preferably red) |
400 g tomatoes (peeled, caned) |
2 garlic cloves |
1 teaspoon chili powder |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
1 cup water |
Directions:
1. Cut onion into thin rounds. Cut peppers into thin rounds. Finely mince garlic. Put olive oil into frying pan; add onion and pepper rounds, garlic and tomato. Season it with chili salt and pepper. Sauté it for about 40 minutes. During the process add some water to prevent premature burning. The sauce is ready to serve when all liquid evaporates; vegetables are soft and reduced in size. Serve hot. |
