Best cookie ever Ingredients:
1 cup vegetable shortening |
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed |
1 cup sugar |
1 jumbo egg, lightly beaten |
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract |
2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 1/2 cups oatmeal, uncooked |
1 1/2-2 cups walnuts, chopped |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream the shortening and sugars together until fluffly. Add the egg and vanilla and mix well. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cinnamon, and baking soda. 2. Gradually add the dry mixture to the west, a little at a time, until thoroughly incorporated. Add the oatmeal and walnuts. The dough should be very stiff and clinging to the beaters. More flour may be needed to achieve the consistency. 3. Scoop the dough into the balls about the size of a black walnut, which is 2-3 tablespoons, place on an ungreased cookie sheets and bake at 350 degree for about 18 minutes. The cookied poof up while baking and the cookies are very airy or full of holes . |
