                    a holiday version of a type of hummus I saw in a cookbook Ingredients: 
                    
                        
                                                1.5 (15 ounce) cans garbanzo beans  |  
                                                2 teaspoons bottled lemon juice  |  
                                                1/2 cup chives  |  
                                                3 cups red bell peppers, minced  |  
                                                1 teaspoon garlic powder  |  
                                                1/8 teaspoon salt  |  
                                                2/3 teaspoon paprika  |  
                                                1 teaspoon pepper  |  
                                                
                     
                    Directions: 
                    
                        
                            
                                1. puree the beans with the paprika,they don't have to be completely smooth;in fact a little texture is a good thing. 2. in a bowl mix the bean with the remaining ingredients. 3. serve with toasted pita wedges.                              |
