Great to serve as an appetizer or just a snack. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour |
1 1/2 cups wheat flour |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 cup buttermilk |
1/4 cup oil |
melted butter |
coarse salt |
sesame seeds |
poppy seed (to garnish) |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350°F. 2. Mix flours, sugar, soda, salt. 3. Stir in buttermilk and oil. 4. Shape dough into 6 balls. 5. Roll each ball into a 9 inch square on a lightly floured cloth covered board. 6. Cut into squares or rough strips depending on the shape you want. 7. Brush with butter and place on ungreased cookie sheet. 8. Sprinkle with course salt and sesame or poppy seeds. 9. Bake 8-10 minutes or until crisp and golden. |
