A vegan take on a traditional rice-crispy treat. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon margarine |
1/2 cup strawberry jam |
1/3 cup granulated sugar |
1 teaspoon lemon zest |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
4 cups crispy rice cereal |
Directions:
1. Melt margarine over medium heat, add jam and sugar to form a syrup. 2. Cook at slow, steady boil for five minutes. 3. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and lemon zest. 4. Quickly and gently mix with cereal, folding mixture together with a spatula. Smooth into 8x8 pan and let cool completely before slicing. |
