The is an alternative to the ordinary Rice Krispie Bars. The layered bar is very good . Ingredients:
1/4 cup margarine |
40 marshmallows |
6 cups rice krispies |
1 cup white corn syrup |
3/4 cup brown sugar |
1/3 cup peanut butter |
1 cup white sugar |
1/4 cup margarine |
1/4 cup milk |
1/2 cup chocolate chips |
1/2 cup miniature marshmallow |
Directions:
1. For the first layer melt 1/4 cup margarine add marshmellows and melt marshmellows. 2. Add Rice Krispies and mix well and place into a 9x12 buttered pan. 3. For the second layer, bring 1 cup corn syrup and brown sugar to a boil. 4. Remove from heat and add peanut butter. 5. Stir well and pour over first layer. 6. Spread and cool. 7. Third layer, bring 1 cup white sugar, margarine and milk to a rolling boil. 8. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips and marshmellows. 9. Beat until thick. 10. Spread on top of second layer. 11. Best to let set overnight. 12. *Recipe can be doubled for first layer using 13 ounce box of Rice Krispies, and 1- 16 ounce bag marshmellows and 1/2 cup margarine. Spread in 11 1/2 by 15 1/2 by 2 inch pan. The rest of the recipe remains the same. |
