Ingredients:
1 cup yellow cornmeal |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1/4 cup vegetable oil |
2 tablespoons light corn syrup |
1 cup buttermilk |
Directions:
1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a mixing bowl; set aside. 2. Combine oil, corn syrup, and buttermilk; mix well. Stir into dry ingredients. 3. Place a well-greased cast-iron corn stick pan in 400° oven for 3 minutes or until a drop of water sizzles when dropped on pan. Remove pan from oven; spoon batter into pan, filling each section one-half full. Bake at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. |
