These will disappear very quickly so don't worry about them going stale. Serve them with cocktails or Sherry or just have them on the coffee table for nibbles. Ingredients:
1 cup flour |
2 tablespoons cornmeal |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 pinch salt |
1 pinch cayenne pepper |
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine |
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated |
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese |
5 tablespoons water |
Directions:
1. Mix together the flour, cornmeal, garlic, cayenne,& salt. 2. Using a pastry cutter or 2 knives cut in the butter until the mixture is like peas,all crumbly. 3. Add all the cheeses and mix. 4. Roll out on a lightly floured surface to about 16x 5 rectangle. 5. Cut into 1/2 strips and place on a greased baking sheet. 6. Bake in 400F oven for about 10 minutes or until golden. 7. Cool on a wire rack. 8. Serve warm or cold. 9. Store in an open container to keep crispness. |
