This is another that my grandmother had. She made this one a lot and sometimes she add nuts or she would put chocolate icing on it and sometimes she did both, But I liked it best plain with peaches on my slice. Ingredients:
1 cup crisco lard |
2 cups sugar |
6 eggs |
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla |
2 cups plain flour, sifted |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven at 350F. 2. Cream sugar and crisco. 3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each one. 4. Add vanilla and flour. 5. Mix well. 6. Bake in a tube pan for 1 hour. 7. Has a crusty top when done. |
