I got the recipe from a friend. Warning, these cookies are addictive. ;) Ingredients:
1 cup shortening |
2 cups sugar |
2 eggs |
1 cup vegetable oil |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
5 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
2 teaspoons cream of tartar |
powdered sugar (optional) |
colored crystal sugar (optional) |
cinnamon (optional) |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening, sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, salt, and vanilla together. 2. Mix flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar together in a separate bowl. 3. Add slowly to wet mixture until thoroughly mixed. 4. Roll into into one inch balls, then shape into crescent moons or stars. 5. Flatten slightly with a fork. 6. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. 7. After cookies have been baked, sprinkle with powdered or colored sugar and top with cinnamon. |
