This is a very good shrimp etouffe. Ingredients:
1/2 cup chopped onion |
1/2 cup chopped celery |
3 cloves minced garlic |
4 tablespoons salad oil |
1 16oz can of tomatoes |
1 8oz can of tomato sauce |
1 teaspoon sugar |
dash of hot sauce |
1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water |
24 oz of clean raw shrimp |
3/4 cup bell pepper |
salt and pepper |
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs |
Directions:
1. Cook first 3 ingredients in hot oil until tender, but not brown. 2. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and seasonings. 3. Simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes; Stir cornstarch into sauce. 4. Add shrimp and bell pepper. 5. Add salt and pepper to taste. 6. Pour into butter baking dish; cover with bread crumbs. 7. Dot with butter. 8. Bake in a 425 degree oven for about 20 minutes. |
