Creole Sauce (Frances Virginia Tea Room)

I make this ahead and freeze in one cup portions to use for a quick shrimp creole.
Ingredients:
4 tablespoons oil or 4 tablespoons butter
1 cup diced celery
1 cup diced onion
1 cup diced green pepper
1 garlic clove, minced
3 tablespoons flour
2 (1 lb) containers tomatoes, chopped (stewed tomatoes may be used)
1/2 cup catsup
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1 pinch sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions:
1. Saute celery, onion, pepper and garlic in fat. Blend in flour. Add tomatoes, catsup, Worcestershire Sauce, sugar and salt. Stir well to blend. Cook slowly until mixture thickens.
