Crole sauce can be served over beef or lamb croquettes or other unseasoned meatballs. Ingredients:
2 cups water |
1 can tomato paste |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/2 cup cider vinegar |
1 1/2 cups celery, chopped |
1/2 cup onion, chopped |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 pinch oregano |
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients into a sauce pan and bring the mixture to a boil. 2. Reduce the heat to simmer, cover and cook for 2 hours. 3. At the end of the cooking time, check the sauce for thickness. 4. If the sauce is thin, thicken it with 1/4 cup cornstarch dissolved in cup of water. |
