Creole Buttermilk - Black Pepper Dressing |

This was a Mardi Gras recipe in our local paper. Good salad dressing, not too peppery and perfect for a Mardi Gras party. I couldn't find Creole mustard, but any good grainy mustard will do. Ingredients:
1/2 cup mayonnaise |
1/4 cup sour cream |
1 tablespoon creole mustard |
2 tablespoons shallots or 2 tablespoons onions, finely chopped |
3 -4 tablespoons buttermilk |
1 teaspoon prepared horseradish (to taste) |
1/4-1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper |
Directions:
1. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, mustard, shallot, 3 Tbs buttermilk, horseradish if using, salt and pepper. Whisk thoroughly. Stir in additional buttermilk as needed to achieve desired consistency. |
