This is an easy quick way to make a creme de menthe cake. You could do this from scratch by replacing the milk or water in your chocolate cake recipe with creme de menthe Ingredients:
1 chocolate cake mix ( i like to use a dark chocolate mix ) duncan hines is my favorite |
eggs |
oil |
creme de menthe (preferably green) |
for frosting |
1 stick of butter |
1 box 10x confectioners sugar |
2 - 4 tbs creme de menthe |
10 andes mints for garnish |
Directions:
1. CAKE: 2. Follow all the directions for making the chocolate cake on the box EXCEPT: use creme de menthe instead of milk or water. 3. Follow the baking directions and cool cakes before frosting 4. FROSTING: 5. cream butter and 1/2 the box of sugar. 6. Add 2 tbs creme de menthe 7. Continue to add the rest of the sugar and add creme de menthe until frosting reaches desired consistency. 8. (optional) After icing the cake, take the andes mints and cut diagonally 9. Arrange them on the cake one or two per serving |
