These spooky little biscuits make a great companion for all fall dishes. Just add a few to a soup or stew, and you have a wonderful, hearty, and cozy dish that your family will just love. Ingredients:
5 c. flour |
1 c. ground oatmeal |
4 tsp. baking powder |
1/3 tsp. baking soda |
2 tsp. salt |
1/2 c. sugar |
1/2 c. cooking oil |
2 c. buttermilk (1 1/2 c. milk and 1/2 c. vinegar) |
1/2 c. warm water |
3 eggs |
Directions:
1. The parentheses are alternatives if you don't have the ingredients. 2. Now, sift all dry ingredients in a bowl. 3. Add liquids and mix well. 4. Knead slightly on a surface covered in ground oatmeal. 5. Refrigerate for 1 hour in a covered bowl. 6. Pinch off amount wanted and roll out, or pat out, to about 1/2 in. on a surface covered in ground oatmeal. 7. Bake for about 5 min or until they puff up on a greased pan at 350 degrees. 8. Beat eggs, and brush on biscuits. 9. Finish baking until golden brown. |
