CREAMY STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Pederson Estate in Duncanville, Texas in 1982. Ingredients:
3 cups half and half |
2 tablespoons all purpose flour |
2 tablespoon water |
3 egg yolks |
1 cup granulated sugar |
1-1/2 teaspoons strawberry extract |
1-1/2 cups fresh strawberries |
Directions:
1. In a double boiler scald the cream then blend flour with water and add to cream. 2. Beat egg yolks with sugar then slowly add to cream along with extract. 3. Cook stirring constantly until mixture thickens then remove and chill. 4. Follow manufacturer's directions for ice cream maker. 5. Add strawberries during the last 5 minutes. |
