This is a nice change from regular mashed potatoes, this recipe only serves 2-3 people you could double or triple to serve more - cooking time does not include cooking the potatoes. Ingredients:
1 1/2-2 cups hot mashed potatoes, made with |
milk |
butter, and |
salt and pepper |
1/2 cup sour cream |
2 tablespoons milk or 2 tablespoons half-and-half |
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder |
durkee french fried onion rings (use the whole can or to taste) |
3/4-1 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
Directions:
1. Set oven to 350 degrees F. 2. Butter a 1-qt baking dish. 3. In a bowl, combine potatoes, sour cream, milk and garlic powder; mix well. 4. Spoon half into a greased baking dish, then layer with half of onion rings and cheese. 5. Repeat layers. 6. Bake uncovered for 30-35 mins or until cheese is melted. |
