This is very moist, very peachy and very tasty. Can substitute nectaries for the peaches if desired. Good enough to serve to guests. Good warm with whipped cream over top or at room temperature. Enjoy Ingredients:
2 cups sifted flour |
1/4 cup granulated sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon baking powder |
16 peach halves |
4 egg yolks |
2 cup heavy cream or sour cream |
1/2 cup butter |
1-1/2 cup sugar |
1-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Sift flour, sugar, salt and baking powder into bowl. Cut in butter using pastry blender until consistency of cornmeal. Pack into an ungreased rectangular pan pressing against bottom and up sides about 1 . Arrange peach halves cut side up in rows. Into a small bowl combine the 1-1/4 cup sugar with the cinnamon. Sprinkle sugar evenly over the fruit and bake at 400 for 15 minutes. In small bowl beat egg yolks then stir in the cream. Remove kuchen from oven and pour cream mixture evenly over fruit and return to oven for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and cool in pan. |
