This creamy white sauce with Parmesan cheese and chopped bacon can be prepared ahead of time, then heated and served over Rosemary Garlic Chicken or your favourite vegetables. Ingredients:
1 1/2 tablespoons butter |
1 1/2 tablespoons robin hood® all purpose flour |
1 (370 ml) can carnation® regular, 2% or fat-free evaporated milk |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese |
1/4 cup chicken stock |
2 ounces bacon or pancetta, chopped |
Directions:
1. Prepare Carnation® Simple White Sauce by melting butter in medium saucepan, add flour and cook over low heat stirring for 1 minute. 2. Whisk in milk and salt. Bring to a boil, lower heat and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until sauce has thickened. 3. Add Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted. Stir in chicken stock. 4. Cook bacon or pancetta in a skillet, until crisp, about 2-3 minutes. Add to white sauce and stir until combined. |
