I try to make this every year for my Dad's Father's Day breakfast. It is one of his favorites. Very creamy.
Ingredients:
2 cups half-and-half cream or 2 cups whipping cream
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 dash garlic powder, to taste
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup uncooked quick-cooking grits
2 ounces cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
Directions:
1. Bring first 4 ingredients to a boil in a large saucepan; gradually stir in grits.
2. Return to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 5-7 minutes or until thickened.
3. Add cheeses and hot sauce, stirring until cheeses melt.
4. Serve immediately.
