Great with grilled ham and shrimp to make an eclectic meal! Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups whole milk |
1/2 cup butter |
1 1/4 cups stone-ground grits |
1 1/2 cups water |
salt |
pepper, to taste |
1/4 cup heavy cream |
4 ounces cream cheese |
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese |
Directions:
1. In large pot, heat milk and butter until simmering. 2. Add grits, whisking to prevent sticking to pan. Season if desired with salt and pepper. 3. Add water when grits begin to bubble. 4. Cook until consistency of oatmeal. 5. Stir in cream cheese and heavy cream until incorporated. 6. NOTE: I like to add Old Bay Seasoning and grilled shrimp and prosciutto for dinner. Otherwise, enjoy as you usually do grits! |
