2 tablespoons butter or margarine |
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour |
1 cup milk |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 cup (1 ounce) shredded cheddar cheese |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat; add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat. Add pepper and cheese; stir until cheese melts. |
