Creamy And Quick Corn Chowder

This corn chowder is really good! I developed this recipe several years ago and still love it! Hope you will too!
Ingredients:
1 stick butter
1 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
2 cups chicken broth
2 cans cream style corn
1 can whole kernel corn, drained
1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon creole spice
8 oz. cream cheese
2 cups half and half
1/4 cup sliced green onions
Directions:
1. In large pot,saute onions and bell pepper in butter until tender.
2. Add broth and bring to a boil.
3. Lower heat to low simmer and add cream corn, corn,cream cheese, brown sugar and creole spice
4. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes.
5. Stir in half and half, and green onions.
6. Cover and continue to cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
7. Season with cracked black pepper and salt.
8. Top with shredded cheddar cheese if desired
