This is from my WWII/Victory cookbook. It is a very unique way to serve radishes. My kids ate it because of the cream sauce. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups large radishes sliced or small whole radishes will work too |
2 tbsp flour |
1 cup milk |
2 tbsp fat (i used butter) |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Place radishes in a pot of water and bring to a boil. 2. Boil radishes until tender. 3. Make a white sauce of the flour, fat, milk and salt/pepper. 4. Drain radishes and pour sauce over the radishes. 5. Serve immediately. 6. According the cookbook it is best served with steak or chops. |
