The peas and potatoes combined with a creamy white sauce make a hearty dish. Ingredients:
4 medium red potatoes, cubed |
1 package (10ounces) frozen peas |
1 tsp. sugar |
2 tbs. butter or margarine |
2 tbs. all-purpose flour |
1/2 tsp. salt |
1/4 tsp. white pepper |
1 1/2 cups milk |
2 tbs. minced fresh dill |
Directions:
1. Place potatoes in a saucepan; cover with water and cook until tender. 2. Cook peas according to package directions, adding the sugar. 3. Meanwhile, melt butter in a saucepan; add flour, salt and pepper to form a paste. 4. Gradually stir in milk 5. Bring to a boil; for 1 minute 6. Add dill; cook until thickened and bubbly. 7. Drain potatoes and peas; place in a serving bowl. 8. Pour sauce over and stir to coat. 9. Serve immediately |
