The peas and potatoes combined with a creamy white sauce make a hearty dish.
Ingredients:
4 medium red potatoes, cubed
1 package (10ounces) frozen peas
1 tsp. sugar
2 tbs. butter or margarine
2 tbs. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. white pepper
1 1/2 cups milk
2 tbs. minced fresh dill
Directions:
1. Place potatoes in a saucepan; cover with water and cook until tender.
2. Cook peas according to package directions, adding the sugar.
3. Meanwhile, melt butter in a saucepan; add flour, salt and pepper to form a paste.
4. Gradually stir in milk
5. Bring to a boil; for 1 minute
6. Add dill; cook until thickened and bubbly.
7. Drain potatoes and peas; place in a serving bowl.
8. Pour sauce over and stir to coat.
9. Serve immediately
