Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter |
1/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, cleaned |
1 cup milk |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
6 slices bread, toasted |
paprika |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a heavy skillet over low heat. Add flour; cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add mushrooms, and stir gently; cover and cook 5 minutes. Gradually add milk, stirring until smooth. Add salt and pepper; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until thickened and bubbly. Spoon mixture over toast; sprinkle with paprika. |
