I had this at my neighbor's cookout yesterday and had to have the recipe. Very simple but a wonderful taste. No onion, sugar or dill in the recipes- just fresh cucumber and sour cream and a bit of seasoning! Note: I edited as she forget to tell me about adding the garlic powder and a bit of white vinegar. Read more . When I made it without vinegar or garlic powder it was still super Ingredients:
several fresh peeled cucumbers |
dairy sour cream |
salt |
pepper |
dash paprika |
dash garlic powder |
a few dashes of white vinegar to taste |
Directions:
1. Peel cucumbers and slice paper thin. 2. Cover with salted water about for 2 hours 3. Drain very well to rid any moisture 4. Stir in enough sour cream to bind together. 5. Season with a bit of salt, pepper , garloc powder and paprika 6. Stir in just of bit of white vinegar to taste 7. Cill well. 8. That's it. 9. Salad should be thick and not watery at all. 10. My notes: since I can't leave any recipe alone, personaly I would love a bit of chopped onion, dill or garlic in it. 11. But I must say it's so refreshing just with the sour cream! |
