From Southern Living cookbook. Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1/4 cup sugar |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/3 cup cold butter, cut up |
1/3 cup whipping cream |
Directions:
1. Combine first 4 ingredients; cut in the butter with pastry blender until crumbly. 2. Add whipping cream to flour mixture, stirring just until moistened. 3. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface; knead about 5 or 6 times. Roll to 1/2 inch thickness; cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter and place in lightly greased muffin pans or 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. 4. Bake at 375°F for 15 minutes or until golden. 5. Serve with preserves and whipped cream. |
