From Our Kitchen To Yours Ingredients:
1 quart milk |
2 tablespoons flour |
2 tablespoons butter |
1 pint tomato |
salt and pepper |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
Directions:
1. Make a white sauce of the liquid, flour and butter. 2. Cook the tomatoes till tender and mash through a coarse sieve. 3. Just before serving, add the soda to the tomatoes and gradually add the tomatoes to the white sauce, stirring constantly. 4. Season and serve at once. 5. If soup begins to curdle, beat thoroughly with egg beater. |
