From my collection of handwritten recipes 1970-1984. Ingredients:
2 cups cooked tomatoes |
1 small onion, minced |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1 dash cayenne |
2 tablespoons butter |
2 tablespoons flour |
1 quart scalded milk |
2 teaspoons sugar |
1 dash garlic salt |
1 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Cook tomatoes, onion, salt, pepper, cayenne and sugar together for 15 minutes. 2. Strain. 3. Melt butter, blend in flour, add milk gradually, stirring constantly. 4. Add tomato mixture gradually to milk, stirring constantly. Serve hot. |
