I use this in casseroles and its worth it when compared to Cambells! Makes 6 cups. Ingredients:
8 ounces thinly sliced mushrooms |
2 cups boiling water |
3 chicken bouillon cubes or equivalent base |
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion |
1/4 cup butter |
3 tablespoons flour |
3 cups milk |
pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. In large saucepan combine mushrooms,boiling water,bouillon and onion. 2. Bring to boil cover and simmer 20 minutes 3. Melt butter in another saucepan, blend in flour 4. Gradually add milk cook and stir until thickened. 5. Add sauce to mushrooms 6. Season with pepper |
